Why is “Organic” Better?
What you put on your skin is as important as what you put in it
When I buy a food product labeled “organic” I feel like a warrior who just dodged a bullet of chemical warfare. But with the introduction to TICO* shave oil in our lives, I started questioning all of the junk I have been putting ON my body, not just IN it. Using natural shaving products and organic skin products is actually just as important if not more important than purchasing organic fruits and vegetables. Here are 7 reasons why natural shaving products and organic body care and cosmetics are better than other mainstream shave products.
- Organic toiletries respect our water resources by the elimination of polluting chemicals and nitrogen leaching. This, combined with soil building, protects and conserves our water resources.
- Skin is a chemical absorber. Our skin is our largest organ, meant to protect us. But what scientists have found is that 60% of what touches our skin is absorbed into our bloodstream. So that lotion with 32 ingredients that you can’t pronounce is not just moisturizing your outer layer of skin; it is actually invading your body with toxic chemicals – time for natural shaving products.
- Natural ingredients offer healing effects. Organic manufacturers aim to utilize the properties of herbs, essential oils, and other ingredients to create natural shaving products that contains only beneficial ingredients. The naturally positive effects of each shave products ingredients make these products far more preferable to those that are chemically produced.
- Non-organic products often cause irritations or sickness or both! Synthetic fragrances can contain as many as 200 ingredients and are known to cause headaches, coughing, skin irritation, and even vomiting. - Organic, natural shaving products save money on medications. Sure, mainstream products are a little less expensive. But let’s say you purchase an inexpensive shaving cream or lotion that causes you a skin irritation. You would then have to purchase medication or another cream to combat the issue, which means you didn’t save any money after all.
